Our Story

Long before the rolling hills of Paso Robles became a celebrated wine country, Carmelo and Carmela Bianchi arrived from Sicily in 1906, chasing the promise of a new life and carrying with them the soul of Italian tradition. In the quiet resilience of those early years through prohibition and hardship Carmelo crafted humble batches of wine at home, ensuring each bottle held quality and care, while Carmela filled the kitchen with the rich aromas of her cooking, feeding family, friends, and neighbors alike. Their sons delivered both wine and warmth to the community, weaving together a story of perseverance, flavor, and connection. Today, Melo Mela Kitchen honors that legacy where rustic Italian roots meet the vibrant spirit of California, and every dish and glass poured is a tribute to where it all began.
